In the fic, John and Rodney have an established, casual sort of intimate relationship. Rodney sees it as being pretty much entirely on John's terms and he's more or less ok with that. Then the two of them get to talking- on a balcony?-- and it might be New Years. John's wish for the new year is to maybe have some more sex. Rodney is completely on board with this wish, which makes John sort of flail because he always thought Rodney didn't much want it because he never instigated anything. Rodney reflects that he might be little dense. On occasion.

Holy week of radio silence, Batman! :P I actually went a week without posting. So weird these days-- I don't even know where to start with the crazy. Let's see--
...To the Nano!cave, Bat-Cor!!!
...wow. That's a lot. No wonder I'm exhausted. :P Anyway, so, Sidewalk Recliner and I are curled up with Teddy Bear Robe and Stolen Pillow, and we're going to write for a little while. I don't think I'll be caught up by the time I call it a night unless I'm suddenly possessed, but that's ok. Probably. I just have to work harder next week. *whipcrack*
- All. Bloody. Weeeek: work was wild; that's not new. :P I'm scheduled to fly out to visit both my favorite and my fake-favorite difficult clients sometime in the beginning of December. Our new employee who is based in the UK came out for training and we pointed him in the direction of real Mexican food, though, and that was kind of fantastic. :D
- Monday: I went to see the Bravery with Roland. None of my damn friends wanted to come so I told him to just take my tickets and take Vry, only Vry couldn't stand the idea of going to the Bravery and authorized me to steal her minion for the evening. (I hadn't asked either Roland or Justice because as much as their womenfolk know I'm not interested, it's a little weird to ask other girls' boyfriends to come to concerts with you.) The show was fantastic, but they were on stage for a very brief set, and Roland and I were there for *maybe* an hour altogether (we got there just as they were getting on stage). Laamez.
- Tuesday: I talked to Oz for whart seemed like a hundred years and I actually felt better than... oh I don't know. Something that doesn't feel good. :P
- Wednesday: I bought a plate full of pastry from the charity bake sale at work, and brought home the majority of it to share with Vry. We camped out in her room and shared a couple of rum and cokes and my plate of pastry and talked about life.
- Thursday: Worked late, talked to Oz some more, then played the L4D2 demo OMG. Then wrote until I fell asleep, contact lenses in, bra on, blankets haphazardly draped over me.
- Friday: No Kid day, thus Liberty, Justice, Roland and Vry's friend came over last night and we made proper frozen Mudslides and played both Rock Band; Vry's friend left and the remaining five of us played one of the most epic games of Munchkin ever. It was hysterical to the point of ridiculous, honestly. So entertaining, omg. :P Those friends are kind of fantastic, there. :D I crawled into bed to write some more, but it just wasn't happening, so I stayed up and watched the season 4 opener of Dexter and then gave up and went to sleep.
- This morning: I slept in until just before 11, then I stayed in bed and watched two more episodes of Dexter and one of Masters of Horror. :P Vry brought me a hot cocoa and a windmill cookie just to enable me. Then I wrote my little heart out to try and catch up with:
- All damn week that I tried, but slacked somehow: I have 7574 words written of my nano, which puts me behind in wordcount for the month but ahead in like, life, and I actually sent the first four completed scenes to my mother, because she's dying to beta read. (She didn't like my line about a certain person 'finding his ominous pants', though. :P Maybe if capitalized 'Ominous Pants'.... :)))) Janie from see_jane_smirk made a guest appearance as a placeholder, but I'll have to replace her with a different character shortly.
- Picked up my Kid at 6 today, we stopped and got a Subway sammich to share, and then came home and played Lego Batman together until bedtime.

Hi! I have another fic that I lost in my mad reading spree (SGA fanfics are great!). Atlantis sees that the Daedalus is on it's way, but it is in trouble. Rodney goes out in a puddle jumper and boards the ship. He discovers that everyone aboard is injured from fleeing Earth, which has been conquered by the goa'uld (I think). Caldwell loses a leg (maybe), and Daniel has gone insane from watching Jack being tortured and then killed in front of him. If you could help, that'd be great!!

Written for the 2009 Snarry Games. Lily has always wanted a little girl with hair as black as ebony, skin as white as snow and lips as red as blood...
Severus knows he is going to die in the war and is more than happy to oblige. Too long he has been the rook to Dumbledore’s queen, protector of Harry Potter – the king. Now he yearns only for peace. As the war with the Dark Lord intensifies, he makes his plans and indulges in recollection.
Road Trip by Sunhawk (PG-13)
Fandom: Gundam Wing
Pairing: Gen or Heero/Duo (1x2x1) If you squint
Length: Long
Author on LJ: Sunhawk
Author Website: RaygunWorks ... also called A Little Piece of Gundam Wing
Why this must be read: Presenting Thelma and Louise on crack, the first of a long, on-going series (with 15+ stories so far - no, really 15), Road Trip stands by itself as an inventive intro to the GW world and a great character piece for one Duo Maxwell. Often in GW fanfic, Duo is the 'girl'. He has long hair and is slight, so he obviously must be clingy, weepy, oh, 'save me, obi-wan' -- ahem, needless to say, Sunhawk does nothing of the sort. In Road Trip, this is the street rat who clawed his way out of damnation to become a Gundam pilot, holds his own against Alliance/OZ forces, and calls his gundam Deathscythe and/or Shinigami (God of Death). He's everything the anime hints at and is often ignored in fandom. Along the way, the reader gets great insight on what was probably happening between episodes as no one fights those kind of battles without injuries.
Fasten your seatbelts, don't disturb Heero, and get this Road Trip going.
And, Naruto recs are coming ... I just forgot to check before posting my previous rec so this is my make-up. Enjoy!

I'm falling in love with Chuck/Blair from Gossip Girl all over again. Ed Westwick is so hot it's crazy. My friend Lara and I are completely in love with him. She noticed today that we spend a lot of time talking about hot celebrity men, and that she thinks it's because there are virtually no dateable boys here, considering 80% of them are gay, and the other 20% are in denial that they're gay. Unfortunately that leaves us straight girls with just the unreachable men to pine over.
Went to town today and got two books for 75 cents, hahahaha! One is a replacement for a book I lent to my old boss who never gave it back/will never give it back, and the other is Winter's Heart, the...ninth? book in the Wheel of Time series. I really wanted the one where Lan and Nynaeve get married (it's either A Path of Daggers or A Crown of Swords; there are too many damn books in this series), but actually Winter's Heart is okay because it's the one where Rand and Nynaeve cleanse the taint on saidin, and if I remember correctly from seventh grade (lol) it is very difficult for them and afterwards Lan takes care of her. :) Also, that was the only WoT book the Bargain Box had, so it was either that or nothing, lol.
Also, my friends and I are going on a diet, because we are all getting fat. There are two main dining areas on campus: an all-you-can-eat buffet kind of place, and a place where you order one or two things and sit and eat. I have decided that I should go to the all-you-can-eat place (Bates) as little as possible, because there it is too tempting to get either ice cream, or these really good cookies they have, or greasy pizza. The place where you order (Pub) has healthier options overall and plus your meal plan only covers a certain amount of $$ you spend, so you can't buy a lot without spending a lot of your money. As well, at the Pub, you're not likely to go back up and order something else after you've already paid for the other thing you bought. Furthermore, the overall quality of the Pub food is better.
So, yeah. I'm not going to buy anymore junk food for the room; if I go to Bates, I'm gonna eat cereal or a waffle or the meat they serve or something instead of the pizza/hamburgers; and I'm going to try and eat at the Pub most often.
I have to get a bridesmaid's dress for my cousin's wedding, which is annoying because I have to either like, find a place where they sell the dresses (dumb) or send in my measurements and possibly receive a dress that doesn't fit, and which I will have no idea how it looks on me (also dumb). Plus they're both not very flattering for my body type, I'm thinking. But there's a bridal store in town, and I thought it would be smart to ask if they carried the brand of dresses! That's smart, right? Wouldn't that be convenient? But it turns out they stopped carrying that particular brand last month :/ Laaaame.
I think I'm going to drop my writing class and take a literature class next semester, in school news.
Also, Vanessa might visit next week, but we'll see. It's probably not going to happen.
I also zipped through two seasons of 30 Rock in about a week. It's so funny! Alec Baldwin is so amusing. Also, I want Liz Lemon's job.

And don't you hate it when you get into a story and you keep waiting for the action/suspense/something except it never comes? And the author just tells you about how great their relationship is and it's growing and then happily ever after? *pouts* In a short piece, that's fine, but in a longer story, some action would be great. Even just a little bit of a challenge, please?
ETA: And I really, really need to stop being so sensitive. It's amazing I ever pull myself away from books and even mildly interact with people. *facepalm*

I promised a friend I would find her the story with Rodney and John both ending up in a house together, and as the story works through it becomes apparent they are both ghosts.

There's something horribly sad about my spam for the last year, which makes me wonder if there's something to be said for society being reflected in their spam. Since the economy did its thing last year, my spam is almost exclusively refinancing and stock spam, with a sprinkling of non-sex related self-improvement (white teeth! better bod! new career! Something else!). However, recently, finally, someone asked if I wanted a bigger penis FOUR INCHES IN FOUR DAYS, and that put me in a better mood. Our economy is recovering--we can afford bigger penises. The amount of IMPROVE YOUR SEX LIFE is also going up, which makes me happy, though admittedly I kind of hope for a hybridized PENIS WILL GROW FOUR INCHES WITH OUR REFINANCING DEAL, and it might even be true if you're in foreclosure. Libidos work better with lower stress.
Gmail and yahoo are exclusive victims of Pfizer drugs, however; for the life of me, I cannot figure that one out. I mean, they're not like, cool drugs or anything. LOWER YOUR CHOLESTEROL WITH DRUGS FROM MEXICO/CANADA/COUNTRY I DID NOT KNOW EXISTED, which really, that is not tempting me to click here. Something that said CREATES TIMESPACE RIP TO GET EVERYTHING DONE EVERY DAY, now that shit I am on. WILL MAKE YOUR BOSS LESS IRRITATING or WILL EXPLAIN HOW TO ACTIVATE VIERA LINK ON TV IN SMALL WORDS, those are some drugs I could get behind. WILL IMPROVE YOUR ABILITY TO DO MATH, get me some of that. FIXES YOUR GODDAMN PERL SCRIPT ERROR. Hell yes. WILL HELP FINISH YULETIDE STORY GUARANTEED WITHOUT SPELLING ERRORS--I have friends who would be all over that. WILL NEVER NEED SPELLCHECK AGAIN fuck yes, please, send me that one, from Mexico or Mars, I am there.
As society continues not to deal with these very pressing issues, no, I am not buying your drugs from Mexico, thanks.

linzeestyle, AIRPS, Adam/Kris. Linzee's style is usually faintly melancholy (to me), which isn't at all a bad thing, but this one surprised me with a richly detailed, complicated emotional landscape that tipped over toward hope and the wonder of falling in love in all the ways it can be terrifying and amazing both, realistic and carefully optimistic. Even if AI isn't your thing, in the end, it's two people who in love, uncertain, terrified, and in the end, joyful.
I don't walk out of many stories feeling this good, but this has been a multiple re-read that never fails to make me happier than I was when I started.
Now must go and check on children, as Child and Niece are tying each other to the exercise bike in a series of ever more complicated poses that make me wonder if they have bones. Niece is a stick and Child is--well, not a stick at all, to put it bluntly. And yet.

Today is the one week mark for NaNo. I have enough written for about a two day cushion should I get stuck. The first few days were smooth sailing. Today was one of those 'beat on the keys until something comes out' kind of days.
This story promises to be LONG. Assuming, of course, I don't go hog wild and edit out whole chunks which I'm tempted to do because it did get away from me. Whatever. The word count is there. I'm not rereading anything I've written, and I haven't done any editing so it's a wait and see kind of a thing.
